My journey began with the birth of my first child. As a young mother in 1998, I witnessed the power of women mentoring women. The confidence that was nurtured played a large part in showing me how to make my own informed decisions.
"It's important that each woman and her partner experience a peaceful pregnancy and a birth that they desire. As a toLabor (ALACE) trained doula, I understand the natural process of birth and that our bodies are full of mystery, wisdom and creativity." – The Barefoot Doula
Our second child arrived in 2005. It was here that I was renewed by carrying and giving birth. My husband and I realized then that birth is not just a medical event, but can be a spiritual and emotional experience. This led me to my belief in the importance of encouraging each woman to find her own voice.
I began my pursuit in certifying as a doula with toLabor (formerly known as ALACE) in 2008. I have since completed my certification and have had the honor of attending numerous births in both hospital and home. This journey has continued to support my study of Aromatherapy, Herbalism, and placenta preparation and has resulted in my enrollment in the Breastfeeding Educator Certification Program provided by Birth Arts International.
I am available to provide support throughout your own journey. Feel free to contact me if you are interested in having me be apart of your birth team.
Peace and Blessings.
